REGAIN YOUR VOICE

REGAIN YOUR VOICE

If you’ve never seen a Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP), or you’ve noticed changes in speech, language, cognition, or swallowing, don’t miss this opportunity. One-on-one therapy with SLP students and faculty is administered in the comfort of your home via telemedicine. Evaluations and SPEAK OUT! therapy is covered by most insurances. Training slots are filled on a first come, first serve basis. To get in on this opportunity, contact the Speech-Language-Pathology Clinic at 623-806-7741.

Let’s support our Midwestern University team and patrons of the Parkinson’s Voice Project

NOTE: SLPs also specialize in the treatment and management of swallowing disorders in people living with PD. If you are struggling with swallowing and cannot find assistance from a local SLP, we would be happy to offer therapy. We recommend an in-person evaluation first, where we would assess your speech and swallowing and then provide you with some home exercises and discuss SPEAK OUT! if you haven’t already completed the program. The remaining sessions can be held via teletherapy. As you may know or have seen, swallowing difficulties often start with difficulty swallowing liquids, so we often look for this as an early warning sign for developing swallowing problems (formally called dysphagia).
