History

The Parkinson’s Support Group of Green Valley was formally organized in 1991 with a Constitution and Bylaws. Cynthia Holmes, PhD, was our mentor from 1992 through August 2013. She kept us up to date on Parkinson’s research, provided us with program ideas and educational materials, and was our liaison to the Arizona Chapter of APDA. In 2015 the Support Group cut its ties with APDA and became affiliated with PMD Alliance. In January 2018 the Parkinson’s Support Group of Green Valley became a 501(c)3 organization and in 2019 was approved by the Arizona Dept of Revenue as a "Qualifying Charitable Organization" (QCO). Tax payers who use this state income tax credit refer to our QCO Code as 22119 on their state tax return.
